Jurassic Vets has been created just for pets and their owners. Our surgeries are designed to keep our patients, visitors and staff as comfortable as possible. We are committed to continued investment in our facilities, equipment and staff training to enable us to always provide the best possible care for you and your pets. Our facilities include:

Wheelchair accessible consultation room / practice

Consultation Rooms 

We have 2 consultation rooms that are used by our veterinary team. Each is equipped with an examination table. There are scales to record the weight of your smaller pets to note any changes over time. There is also a range of equipment to help us examine your pet’s eyes and ears and the usual every day tools such as thermometers and stethoscope. We also have a computer in each room to aid in explaining your pets case in detail with you including any images we may have uploaded to your pets’ record.

Diagnostics & Laboratory 

We are equipped with a range of analysers including a biochemical blood analyser which enables us to run blood tests on your pets quickly and in house! We also have a powerful microscope for investigations such as parasites and equipment to examine your pets’ urine samples in house. 

Surgical Theatres

We are proud of our dedicated surgical theatre. Our surgical operating theatre is situated away from our kennel and preparation areas to ensure minimal risk of post-operative infections. We have a range of sterile surgical equipment to allow for a range of procedures, from soft tissue surgery including thyroidectomy to orthopaedic. We have strict hygiene and infection control policies. All our surgical instruments are cleaned via an ultrasonic cleaner and autoclave as standard. All staff entering the theatre must also follow strict dress codes to adhere to theatre policy. Any general anaesthetic carried out at Jurassic Vets is monitored by our highly trained Veterinary Nurses with the aid of specialist equipment.

Imaging Suite 

We have invested in a powerful digital X-Ray machine. This allows us to take images of your pet quickly and safely and then allows us to upload these images directly onto your pet's medical records. This allows the veterinary team to have the information from the radiographs at their fingertips and also allows us to show the images to you whilst explaining the findings. As well as digital imaging Jurassic Vets have also invested in an Ultrasound scanner. The Ultrasound scanner allows for a non-invasive test that can provide information regarding your pets’ organ function.

Dental Facilities 

At Jurassic Vets dental hygiene is considered of great importance to the overall health and wellbeing of your pet. As well as keeping that bad breath at bay! Our dental facilities include an ultrasonic scaler and piped-air polisher with a range of drill pieces, we also have specialised anaesthetic equipment that allows us to anaesthetise our small furry patients for dental procedures such as hamsters. We also have various hand tools for a wide range of procedures. All our patients undergoing dental treatment are also placed on intravenous fluid therapy and have their blood pressure monitored as a standard this is to ensure that your pet is best supported through their procedure.

Close working relationships with referral centres  

 We know that pets are a part of your family, so we'll always make the time to listen and to chat. We use generous twenty minute appointments so that we can take all the time needed to do things calmly and carefully - and you can always ask to see the same vet as before However, for the rarest or most difficult cases, we have close working relationships with some of the very best referral centres in the UK, such as cancer specialists, orthopaedic experts and veterinary ophthalmological surgeons.
