Canine exercise rehabilitation is a new and growing branch of veterinary medicine. It recognises the benefit from specific exercise programs and other therapeutic modalities, resulting in decreased pain, improved fitness and helps restore functioning.
Consultations will include assessments of your dogs mobility, an exercise plan for home recovery and in some cases basic massage therapy.
If yes to any of the above then your dog could benefit from Canine Mobility Clinics - ask your veterinary surgeon about being referred to Harriet at Jurassic Vets.
Exercise Rehabilitation isn't always about managing injuries. It also includes a proactive approach to fitness and wellness, intended to prevent injury and improve functioning.
Think of it like going to the gym- we go to improve fitness and reduce the risk of injuries.
It is advised that all dogs that need rehabilitation are referred from their Vets and receive any pain relief/treatment prior to physical therapy. This is to ensure that we aren't risking patients with pre-existing conditions or unconfirmed diagnosis.
